Dear Brothers, Sisters and Friends in Christ,

Happy New Year! I greet you warmly in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.“O give thanks to the Lord of lords, for his steadfast love endures forever; who alone does great wonders.”  Psalm 136:3-4a (Watchword for New Year’s Day)

Indeed it is a New Year! The old year has quickly passed by and we have once again proven the sufficiency of God’s grace. Though underserved we are, God, through His love, continues to bestow His grace upon us; indeed grace multiplied by grace. We are equally grateful for God’s steadfast love and great wonders.

As we reflect on 2015, it has been a year of joys and sorrows, successes and failures. As a congregation, we bade farewell to two of our members. We also mourned with those who lost loved ones last year. We celebrate with those who gained milestones in their lives and realized achievements.

As a community of faith, we note our Provincial theme, “My God, My Church and I in Mission”. I trust that we have all embraced this theme as we seek to establish Covenant as a dynamic mission centre. May we be reminded of the mandate to offer the gospel, through our words and lives, to all people. My

prayer for you is that you will be deeper grounded and rooted, and firmer established in your faith in God, through Jesus Christ.

As members of this beloved country, we continue to be very concerned about the escalating levels in crime and violence and the blatant disregard for law and order. We must strive to do all in our power to maintain peace in our little corners with the hope that it will extend across our land. May we truly be

connected with the Prince of Peace and spread His peace everywhere we go.

We note those things achieved and others not yet achieved with regards to our Action Plan for 2015. We wish to express heartfelt thanks to all members of our Family here at Covenant for your labour of love. Special thanks to our Lay Pastor, Officers, Ministerial Students, Leaders and Members of Committees and the Choir, and Leaders of Auxilliaries for your prayers, support, contribution, and commitment. May we continue to work together to build God’s Kingdom.

I look forward to this year with renewed hope. Join me in making ourselves available for what God will do for us, around us, in us and through us in the year ahead as we continue to press on as a Family-Focused, Community-Oriented Church.

I close with the Doctrinal text for New Year’s Day: “Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
