Monday Reflection – 2017

Prelude
Today we mark another of our Moravian festival, Chief Elder Festival. We recall how on November 13, 1741, 276 years ago, the announcement was made to the congregations of the Brethren’s Church that Jesus Christ is Chief Elder of the Church. We note that no human is head of our Church; Jesus Christ is the sole Head and Chief Elder.
Reflection:
God Who is our All in All!
Relieve the troubles of my heart, and bring me out of my distress. Psalm 25:17

Our Great God
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. Psalm 145:3
Sing with me:
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for he is your health and salvation!
Let all who hear, now to his temple draw near,
Praise Him in glad adoration.

Better than Before
I will do more good to you than ever before. Then you shall know that I am the Lord. Ezekiel 36:11

What of your plans and work?
Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)
The New Century Version puts it this way, “Depend on the Lord in whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”
“A goal without a plan is just a wish.” – Antoine de Saint-Exupery
Monday Reflection – 2017

As this day approached, I wondered what might I commit to do in this new year. As I reflected, it came to me just yesterday that I could prepare and share a weekly Monday Reflection. I hope that God will give me the wisdom and guidance so to do and to be faithful. I intend to use the Watchword and/or Doctrinal texts for each Monday.
May the Monday Reflections serve as an inspiration to us for each week.
Watchword: For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1

Isaiah 51:6 – Temporary vs Eternal
(Greetings on this National Heroes Day in Jamaica. We pause to remember today our national heroes and heroine who sacrificed all to help in the process towards our emancipation and independence. We also recognize our present heroes, some of whom will receive their national awards today. Let’s not forget our unsound heroes who have and continue to give of their all in service to their fellow human beings.)
