Psalm 56:10<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p><br \/>In the context of today\u2019s Watchword, David expresses deep reliance on the Lord\u2019s care when he<br \/>says, \u201cYou have taken account of my wanderings; Put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in<br \/>your book?\u201d (vs. 8). Here, the Psalmist acknowledges that every detail of his life is known to<br \/>God, including each tear shed in his afflictions. David\u2019s words paint an intimate picture of a<br \/>loving and attentive Creator who notices all of His children\u2019s sorrows. This assurance offers<br \/>comfort to all of us who may feel overlooked or forgotten, emphasizing that God\u2019s records are<br \/>precise and He cherishes the tears of His people. Being counted and remembered has the<br \/>powerful potential to inspire believers to place our burdens confidently at God\u2019s feet.<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n<p>David proclaims in verse 9: \u201cThen my enemies will turn back in the day when I call; This I<br \/>know, that God is for me.\u201d Here, he exudes bold faith that the Lord will act on his behalf.<br \/>Despite the opposition he faces, he anticipates divine reversal of his circumstances. We can find<br \/>hope that in times of dire need, prayers do not go unheard, and God\u2019s love transforms the<br \/>outcome of our battles.<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n<p>Building upon this confidence, David repeats his gratitude by declaring in today\u2019s Watchword:<br \/>\u201cIn God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise.\u201d The repetition emphasizes the<br \/>strength and certainty of David&#8217;s trust. By utilizing both &#8220;God&#8221; (Elohim, representing the<br \/>Creator\/Judge\/ supreme authority) and &#8220;Lord&#8221; (Jehovah, representing the covenant-keeping<br \/>God), David acknowledges that the Creator is also deeply invested in his personal protection.<br \/>David\u2019s repeated praise of God\u2019s word underscores the reliability of divine promises. These<br \/>promises continue to reassure believers that God\u2019s truth can be trusted to guide and fortify our<br \/>faith.<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n<p>From this confident position, David emphasizes his trust as he declares, \u201cIn God I have put my<br \/>trust, I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me?\u201d (v. 11). Though enemies may succeed<br \/>temporarily in causing fear or suffering, David stands firm in his perspective that the Lord\u2019s<br \/>dominion is far greater than any human power. We are ever reminded that no earthly peril can<br \/>separate us from God\u2019s love and care (Romans 8:38-39).<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n<p>From today\u2019s text, may we pursue trust over fear. Like David, may we actively shift our focus<br \/>from the danger of mere mortals to the certainty of God&#8217;s unchanging promises. May we also<br \/>remember that faith is a choice. Indeed, faith and fear can occupy the same mind at the same<br \/>time, so let\u2019s demonstrate a deliberate act of the will to focus on God&#8217;s word. May we also<br \/>recognize the power of God&#8217;s word. Such absolute confidence is not blind optimism; rather, it is<br \/>a grounded trust in the verifiable character and promises of God.
